Sunlit Earth Dashboard Widget for Mac OS X - Version 2.1.4

This simple and aesthetic widget will display the sunlit portion of the Earth. The widget updates once per minute and has no user preferences. The Earth images used by the widget are courtesy NASA and NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). Painting top layer and bathymetry courtesy of J. Hastings.

Now, the widget allows you to lock on a specific longitude or the Sun. When locked on the Sun, the sunlit region remains centered. You can also choose to show or hide the sun icon.

- To lock on a longitude, Command + Click (or right-click) on the longitude you want centered, then select "Lock On Cursor" from the popup menu that appears.

- To lock on the Sun, Command + Click (or right-click) anywhere on the image, then select "Lock On Sun " from the popup menu that appears.

- To hide/show the Sun or reset the widget, Command + Click (or right-click) anywhere on the image, then select the appropriate menu option from the popup menu that appears.

When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget’s icon in the Widget Bar to open it."
